Holidays Act Review – Compass Group New Zealand

Compass Group (New Zealand) have identified a number of payroll-related issues which, over time, have resulted in some staff receiving incorrect payments.

The issues relate to the payments of, and entitlements to, leave under the Holidays Act 2003 (Bereavement, Alternative, Public Holiday & Sick Leave) and the way these have been interpreted and calculated.

Following an external independent review, some of our former employees who were employed from 26 October 2009 have been paid incorrectly, resulting in some that have been overpaid while others may be entitled to an additional payment.

The situation is not unique to Compass Group. Other public and private sector organisations have experienced similar issues and are undertaking, or have completed, similar recalculation processes.

If you believe you may have been affected, and were employed by Compass Group NZ from 26th October 2009, please email [email protected] to find out whether you are affected.

If you are potentially entitled you will need to provide evidence of identification (e.g. passport, drivers licence, birth certificate, 18+ card etc) and bank details so please have these ready.
